I Am Number Four The Lost Files The Last Days of Lorien Lorien Legacies The Lost Files Book 5 eBook Pittacus Lore
The Last Days of Lorien follows a young Sandor on Lorien, just before it falls to the Mogadorians. This was a really interesting story, in that we get to see Sandor as a teenager, prior to the tech wizard adult he became. Sandor is a troubled youth with fairly useless parents. He is constantly getting himself into trouble, mainly through hacking and tech skills.
This leads to him getting a job, and from here, we get to see another part of his story, as well as see more of Lorien.
I guess one thing that was disappointing about the story was that Lorien seemed so Earth like, with nightclubs, alcohol, streets, apartments, all the same things that are on Earth. Aren’t they meant to be a nature loving, technologically advanced race? And a race where half the population is ‘gifted’. Even if it's far less that are Garde, they are still far more advanced, and yet, the planet seemed like ours? Is it meant to be because the Loric have been visiting us for so long and infecting our world with their culture?
However, all that aside, we get descriptions of the planet, animals, tech, and why they are so unready for the Mogs.
We also get to read Sandor’s view of the invasion.
This was a really insightful book for those that are fans of the series, not only into Sandor, but into Lorien, into the Invasion of Lorien, about history, some more background of the Nine and what other Garde were like.
If you are a fan of the series, this one is well worth the read.

I Am Number Four The Lost Files The Last Days of Lorien Lorien Legacies The Lost Files Book 5 eBook Pittacus Lore Reviews
I am absolutely addicted to every book in the "I AM NUMBER FOUR" (or "Lorien Legacies") series. The creativity is astounding with the occasional twist that always makes you want to keep reading. Even this side series is enough to keep a total fanatic at bay until the next main book. Each book flows rather well and keeps proper track of characters. While giving background information is usually boring, the way Pittacus Lore puts it makes every little detail a must and something else to grab your attention. This is definitely a book series for those more geared toward Scy-Fy, Fantasy, the occasional Suspense, and Romance. Even if it doesn't quite fit your criteria, I definitely recommend giving this series a shot, because you just may surprise yourself at how great a writer Pitacus is, starting with book 1 "I AM NUMBER FOUR".
Love all these books! For a while when I first discovered the I Am Number Four series, and especially the Lost Files set, i read them so quickly i cannot give a very specific review of each one... but I do know I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about important characters in the series .. this one and all the others were hard to put down each night when I'd read.. even when i was soooo tired I should just stop and sleep. D
I am reluctant to read the last books in this series, because I don't want it to be over! Lately I have a hard time finding a book/series I can really get into.
Ok i loved this book as i did all the others & loved reading about the planet Lorien but i keep wanting more. We get tidbits like more than one sun, large forests & that they are as we know space travelers & explorers but then we don't get any more than that.
Its great to read Sandors story especially knowing what happens to him on earth. It is sad that none of the grade on Earths cepans survived, how are they supposed to re populate an entire planet after this war ? The entire idea is for them to go back to their planet after all is it not ?
Reading this book made me want to ask to many questions that i fear might never truly get answered or resolved i truly hope this is not the case beacause that'll just end the series in a bad unresolved way.
- With all those legacies on Lorien there must have been one at least with the ability to safe some of the people or at least hide or shelter them from the Magodorians in some sort of way ?
Were there any Loriens not on the planet at the time ? Like on other planets or in space ?
Was it one of the elders that betrayed them ? Pitticus Lore himself maybe or is he still out there somewhere watching & maybe still coming to help ?
There is mention of a pilot on the ship of escapees what happened to him ?
SORRY just wondering about a few things.
Cant wait for the rest to come out so that we can find out what happens next.
In the not so distant past I worked at a few book stores. A problem I ran into frequently was finding books for teen boys. The YA market is flooded with books meant solely for girls. Boys have always been a harder sell when it comes to reading and publishers haven't made it an easier job, especially when they have flooded the teen market with paranormal romance.
So recommendations for teen boys often meant I would recommend The Hunger Games. Unfortunately many guys aren't too keen on reading a book in which the main character is a girl, no matter how good the story is. So after going through the other 5 or 6 good teen guy books I could think of I would often recommend a book in the general fiction and literature section, but parents often fear that their children will encounter questionable subject matter. Which they may, but they should also remember many of the books their children read in school are found in the fiction and literature not the teen section.
I found "I am Number Four" to be a great action adventure, that followed the traditional hero archetype. The main character, number Four or John Smith, is as relatable as a alien teenager on the run can be. The surrounding cast of characters rounds out this alien boys average existence, Henri, his alien guardian/father figure, Sam, his nerdy best friend, Sarah, his crush, and Mark, a bully and Sarah's ex. The story is a super power driven action packed adventure, filled with all the tender feelings and angst that a every teenager has.
It was a quick read. I got through it in about a day and a half. I would recommend this book for anyone over the age of 13.Read more ›
