I bought this book with high hopes. I have read a lot about Cleopatra, both fiction and non-fiction, and have enjoyed them. But this book has so many inaccuracies that, after reading three chapters, I have put it down and will probably delete it from my . Let me point out a few of them

1. The first chapter talks about Cleopatra's "bronze limbs." Cleopatra was not Egyptian; she was descended from Macedonian Greeks. No bronze limbs.

2. Apollodorus was NOT her grandfather. He was her friend and loyal follower.

3. Cleopatra did NOT leave Rome on the day of Ceasar's demise. Instead, she stayed for several weeks longer.

(And those three were in the first chapter alone!)

If you write about a historical personage, at least learn about their life before beginning your novel. Otherwise, set it in an alterative universe, or make it about someone you've completely made up.
